Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men after skin cancer. Many men, however, hesitate to discuss this disease, even with their doctors, perhaps because it involves uncomfortable issues such as incontinence and impotence. Certainly, a diagnosis of cancer can make you feel that things are out of your control. However, participating in making decisions about your care and learning as much about your diagnosis and treatment as you can will give you a greater sense of control.
